The engineer should be M8000/M9000 trained DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Schedule for immediate replacement can be planned within contractual terms. TASK COMPLEXITY: 2 TIME ESTIMATE: 150 minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown unless opting for 'Cold Replacement'. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: ACTIVE: 1. Stop all connection to target tape and DVD. 2. From OS, execute cfgadm -a to verify Ap_Id of tape and DVD. 3. From OS, execute cfgadm -c unconfigure TAPE_Ap_Id to unconfigure tape from domain. 4. From OS, execute cfgadm -c unconfigure DVD_Ap_Id to unconfigure DVD from domain. 5. From OS, execute cfgadm -a to verify the status of tape and DVD changed from "configured" to "unconfigured." 6. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -c detach -p <port #> to detach target DVD from port. 7. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -l to confirm the port is not displayed in current connection. 8. Remove and Replace DVD. 9. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -c attach -p <port #> to attach tape to port. 10. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -l command to verify that port number is displayed in current connection. 11. From OS, execute cfgadm -c configure TAPE_Ap_Id and DVD_Ap_Id to configure devices to domain. 12. From OS, execute cfgadm -a to verify the status of tape and DVD changed from "unconfigured" to "configured." HOT: 1. Ensure customer has powered down domain. 2. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -c detach -p <port #> to detach target DVD from port. 3. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -l to confirm the relevant port is not displayed in current connection. 4. Remove and replace DVD. 5. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -c attach -p <port #> to attach DVD to port. 6. From XSCF, execute cfgdevice -l command to verify that specified Port number is displayed in current connection. 7. Turn on power to relevant domain. 8. Start up domains as necessary. COLD: 1. Change OPNL from Locked to Service. 2. Ensure customer has powered down domains. 3. Confirm POWER LED on OPNL is off. Note: On a M9000-64 the base cabinet should be switched off first. 4. Switch off all main line switches. 5. Check XSCF STANDBY LED on OPNL goes out. Note: On a M9000-64 the expansion cabinet should be switched on first. 6. Once replacement is complete switch on all main line switches. 7. Check status to ensure no fru's are degraded or faulted. 8. Confirm that XSCF STANDBY LED on OPNL remains lit. 9. Start (power on) all domains. 10. Return mode switch on OPNL to its original position.
