The engineer should be M8000/M9000 trained. TASK COMPLEXITY: 2 TIME ESTIMATE: 150 minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : The customer should power off all domains. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: Cold replacement with power down is required. 1. Change OPNL from Locked to Service. 2. Ensure customer has powered down domains. 3. Confirm POWER LED on OPNL is off. Note: On a M9000-64 the base cabinet should be switched off first. 4. Switch off all main line switches. 5. Check XSCF STANDBY LED on OPNL goes out. 6. Remove the ACS to be replaced. single-phase power feed / standard configuration. M8000: a. Loosen thumb screw to remove connector protecting plate. b. Loosen connector retaining screws to disconnect three power cords. c. Loosen two thumb screws in upper part of ACS. Pull up two levers to open position. d. Move lever left to open position. e. Grasp handle, pull carefully from slot. M9000: a. Loosen cable support plate retaining screw, and remove plate by sliding it to the left. b. Loosen two thumb screws to remove connector protecting plate. c. Loosen connector retaining screws to disconnect five power cords. d. Move eject lever up to open position. e. Loosen two thumb screws in upper part of ACS. Pull up the two levers to the open position. f. While grasping the handle, pull out ACS carefully from slot. For three-phase AC section: a. Loosen four screws on ACS cover, and remove ACS cover. b. Remove power cables. Caution - When removing power cables, switch off the main line switches. Power cord must be removed by a qualified worker. c. Loosen knob screws on AC section, and pull out AC section while lifting two levers. d. With AC section pulled out partially, grasp front and top handles and remove AC section. 8. Mount replacement AC section by following removal instructions in Step 7 in reverse order. Align AC section with the slot guides, insert it carefully, press lever to closed position, and secure it firmly. Caution – Do not forcibly push ACS when inserting it, even if it is not moving smoothly. Note: On a M9000-64 the expansion cabinet should be switched on first. 9. Switch on all main line switches. 10. Check status to ensure no fru's are degraded or faulted. 11. Confirm that XSCF STANDBY LED on OPNL remains lit. 12. Start (power on) all domains. 13. Return mode switch on OPNL to its original position. OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Restart software applications.
