M9000 Training TIME ESTIMATE: 150 minutes TASK COMPLEXITY: 2 FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : Customer should shutdown and power off the domains WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: Cold replacement procedure: 1. Change OPNL switch to Service. 2. Ensure customer has powered down domains. 3. Confirm POWER LED on OPNL is off. Note: On M9000-64, base cabinet should be switched off first. 4. Switch off all main line switches. 5. Check XSCF STANDBY LED on OPNL goes out. 6. Connect wrist strap clip to grounding port, and band to your wrist. 7. Remove all CMU's, and IOU's. From the front of M9000: a. Remove all XBUs. b. Remove two CLKU's. c. Remove two XSCF units. For a M9000-64, remove all cables and cable support brackets as well. Disconnect cables completely from both cabinets. d. Loosen four screws securing the XBU shelf. Grasp handle, and remove shelf from cabinet. f. Loosen four screws securing the IOU shelf. Grasp handle, pull shelf out partially. Move hands to top frame of IOU shelf, and remove shelf from cabinet. 8. Remove BP to be replaced. a. Using a torque wrench, remove four hexagonal bolts on the bus bar of BP. b. Disconnect all cables from BP. c. Arrange cables so connectors do not get caught while BP is being removed. d. Loosen six thumb screws securing BP. e. Grasp upper parts of BP frame, lower it toward you, and place it horizontally on guide rails. f. Grasp left and right sides of BP frame, remove BP by moving it carefully along guide rails. 9. Place removed BP on antistatic conductive mat. 10. Mount replacement BP by following the removal instructions in Step 7 and Step 8 in reverse. Remove the cover which is attached for shipment. Do not hit the connector parts on anything when mounting. Caution - Tightening the bus bar, choose a torque depending on bolt size. * M8 bolts, use a torque of 8.24 N*m (84 kgf*cm). * M6 bolts, use a torque of 3.73 N*m (38 kgf*cm). Note: On a M9000-64 the expansion cabinet should be switched on first then base cabinet. 11. Switch on all main line switches for the AC section (ACS) in the power supply system. 12. Confirm that the XSCF STANDBY LED (green) on the OPNL remains lit. 13. Power on all domains together. 14. Return the mode switch on the operator panel to its original position. 15. Using the XSCF command showhardconf or showstatus, confirm that each replacement component is normal. 16. Close the door on the server, and lock it.
