Basic Field tool kit needed and either the included torque screwdriver or a tool capable of measuring 5 +- 0.5 inch pounds of torque.

Optionally remove system from rack or if cable management allows and adequate space is available, engage rack anti-tip mechanism and slide system from rack in order to access the top cover.

1, Remove top cover
2, Identify defective CPU (CPU 0 is to the right when viewing the system from the front, CPU 1 is on the left)
3, Use appropriate tool to remove CPU retaining screws
4, Lift CPU straight out of system
5, Install Replacement CPU in the appropriate slot
6, Alternately tighten retainer screws tightening them to achieve uniform seating of CPU module
7, Continue tightening until torque indicator reaches 5 +- 0.5 inch pounds.

"NOTE" Do not re-tighten screws as a means to check torque value. If torque value is in question, loosen screws and torque down using normal procedure.

8, Replace top cover
9, Restore original system position and cabling
10, Power on system and observe POST
11, Boot system to appropriate run level

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
