Remove and Install the Front Panel Light Pipe Assemblies

This procedure that must be performed by qualified service personnel.

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

DAMAGE ALERT: Perform a visual inspection of the replacement part to make sure that there are no damaged components, connectors, bent pins, damaged packages during shipping, etc. If the part is damaged, don't install it into the system, order a new part. Handle with caution and package carefully the return part to avoid any damages during shipping.


The server must be fully shut down and the power cords disconnected.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

Remove the Front Panel Light Pipe Assemblies

1.- Remove the hard drive cage.

2.- Remove the screws securing the front control panel light pipe assembly to the hard drive cage.

3.- Slide the light pipe assembly out of the control panel.

Install the Front Panel Light Pipe Assemblies

1.- Insert the light pipe assembly into the control panel.

2.- Align the control panel light pipe assembly with the mounting holes on the hard drive cage.

3.- Secure the light pipe assembly with the three screws.

4.- Install the hard drive cage.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Restart the server.
