E-Delivery Hardware Activation Information.

This is the SILKs replacement for activating hardware upgrades on the SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 libraries.  For downlevel libraries, the old SILKs process must be used.

Oracle E-Delivery Has New Name: Oracle Software Delivery Cloud
Effective immediately, Oracle Software Delivery Cloud is the new name for Oracle E-Delivery.

To access the E-Delivery files, go to this website:  https://edelivery.oracle.com/ (Oracle Software Delivery Cloud - Portal -)

The Oracle StorageTek Hardware File within this download activates a billable feature for the SL500 Library.
It should not be installed unless the correlating feature has been purchased via your Oracle Sales Representative.

In order to use the E-Delivery Hardware Activation files the following Oracle StorageTek Library firmware must be installed and operational.

  SL500  - 1409 or higher
  SL3000 - 3.0x or higher
  SL8500 - 7.0x or higher

Before proceeding, contact your Service Representative if your library  code is not at the minimal level listed above.

Ensure that Oracle StorageTek Library Console (SLC) 4.75 or higher for SL500, or 5.00 or higher for SL3000/8500, is installed and operational on a Windows, Linux, or Solaris platform that has Ethernet access to the desired Oracle SLseries library. The SLC application software is available for download from the E-Delivery web site:

SLC installation:

- Go to: https://edelivery.oracle.com/
- Sign in with your credentials.
- Accept the legal agreements.
- In the product search field, start typing: slc
- Choose the suggested: 'Oracle StorageTek Library Console'
- Press: 'Select Platform'
- Tick the box: 'Generic' and click: 'Select'.
- Press: Continue.
- Check the wanted product is selected and press: 'Continue'
- Accept the legal agreements.
- Choose the wanted product .zip file. For example: V47361-01.zip 'Oracle StorageTek Library Console Software (SLC) (6.51.0.0.0)'.
- Download and extract the package and install the proper version depending on your platform. Also read the release notes for instructions.

HW Activation file installation:

- Go to: https://edelivery.oracle.com/
- Sign in with your credentials.
- Accept the legal agreements.
- In the product search field, start typing the library model: sl8500 (for example)
- Choose the suggested license you are looking for: 'StorageTek SL8500 modular library system: activation permit for 1,000 cartridge slots' (for example)
- Press: 'Select Platform'
- Tick the box: 'Generic' and click: 'Select'.
- Press: Continue.
- Check the wanted product is selected and press: 'Continue'
- Accept the legal agreements.
- Choose the wanted product .zip file. For example: V26758-01.zip 'Oracle StorageTek SL8500 Hardware Activation File for 1000 Slot Capacity'.
- Download and extract the . zip package.
- It will contain: Readme file for instructions, and .jar file for the actual license.
- Use SLConsole to activate the license file: Tools ----> Hardware Activation ----> Install Hardware Activation Keys
