DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED:
No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

TIME ESTIMATE: 160 minutes

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

DAMAGE ALERT: Perform a visual inspection of the replacement part to make sure that there are no damaged components, connectors, bent pins, damaged packages during shipping, etc. If the part is damaged, don't install it into the system, order a new part. Handle with caution and package carefully the return part to avoid any damages during shipping.


WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:
1.- Removing DVD / USB

a.- Remove any optical disks from DVD module and unplug any USB cables from USB port
b.- Bring server to standby mode. Momentarily press recessed Power button on server front panel. You may need to use a pointed object, such as a stylus or pen
c.- Unplug the power cords
d.- Attach antistatic wrist strap
e.- If the lower right hard drive bay contains an HDD or SDD module, remove it.
8-disk capable backplane: remove HDD 7
16-disk capable backplane: remove HDD 13
f.- Reach in under the DVD/USB module and pull the release tab out. Use finger indentation in hard drive bay below DVD/USB module to extend release tab.
g.- Slide DVD/USB module out of hard drive cage
h.- Place module on antistatic mat
2 .- Reverse the process to install the DVD

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Turn on the system and verify functionality.
