Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Do I need to load a driver to support IBM LTO2 and LTO4 with a Redhat Linux OS (5.6 64bit x86-64). NBU 6.5.5 is backup app.

Solution

Linux has a default st driver in their kernel that most likely Netbackup will bind to with their driver. 
If they don't use Netbackup's drivers for the drive then it would be recommended that the customer get the latest IBM drivers from IBM's website.
