DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Engineer should be M3000 product trained
TASK COMPLEXITY: 2
Time Estimate: 30 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
* Power off the server.
* Slide the server out from the equipment rack.
* Remove the top cover.
* Remove the air duct from the server.
* Pull the DIMM eject levers outward to release the DIMM.
* Pull the DIMM upwards to remove the DIMM from the socket.
* Place the DIMM on a conductive mat.
* Push the new DIMM evenly into the DIMM socket.
* Push the DIMM eject levers inward to secure the DIMM in position.
* Reassemble the Server.
* Power on the machine.
- This procedure includes the steps of reconnecting the power cord, checking the LED status, and turning the mode switch on the operator panel to the Locked position.
Confirm hardware fix by running the following commands:
XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
