Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Engineer has to complete the OPL system training

TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

Time Estimate: 60 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

* Caution - All power cords must be disconnected to completely remove power from the server.
* Caution - Use proper ESD grounding techniques when handling components.Below steps for cold replacement

1. Shutdown the domain
2. Replace the new Graphics card from the cassette after confirming the correct location of Graphics card
3. Power on the domain
4. Confirm the hardware.
This step includes running programs to be certain all components are mounted
again and then booting the operating system.

xscf> showhardconf -M

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Boot the system and start the application as per the sys admin procedure
