DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:All the power cords must be disconnected to completely cut the power to the server.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
- Power off the server using the poweroff -a command at the XSCF
command prompt. Verify the POWER LED is off, and disconnect the power
cords.
- Slide the server out from the equipment rack.
- Remove the top cover.
- Remove the air duct from the server.
Removing the disk backplane
- Pull out all the hard disk drives (including HDD filler panels) from the server by several centimeters
- Remove the two cables from the rear of the hard disk drive backplane
- Remove the cables connected to the CD-RW/DVD-RW drive unit.
- Pull the CD-RW/DVD-RW drive unit out by several centimeters.
- Loosen the two screws to remove the hard disk drive backplane.
- Place the hard disk drive backplane on a conductive mat.
Mounting the disk backplane
- Mount the hard disk drive backplane.
- Tighten the two screws to secure the hard disk drive backplane.
- Secure the two cables to the rear of the hard disk drive backplane.
- Mount the hard disk drives.
- Mount the CD-RW/DVD-RW drive unit
Reassembling the Server
- Attach the air duct.
- Attach the top cover.
- If the equipment rack is supplied with a Quake-Resistant Options Kit or stabilizer, return to its original position.
- Power on the server.
Connect all the power cords to power outlets.
Verify that the XSCF STANDBY LED on the operator panel is on.
Turn the mode switch on the operator panel to the desired mode position. - Confirm hardware fix by running the following commands:
XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Post work required to bring the system back online
