FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Hoe to replace a SCC Reader

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : Take the system to Standby mode, shutdown domains and power off System

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

Use proper ESD grounding techniques when handling components. Wear an antistatic wrist strap and use an ESD-protected mat. Store ESD-sensitive components in its ESD safe packaging box before placing them on any surface.

This procedure requires the system to be extended out of the system cabinet on its slides. You must extend the system cabinet stabilizer bar.

Follow the procedure in the Service Manual Referenced below for SCC Reader Replacement.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Power on the system, post and boot
