This section explains how to remove a functioning System SEEPROM module so that you can install it on a new I/O board, thereby preserving the system's host ID information. If you are replacing a defective System SEEPROM module and want to retain the same host ID and Ethernet address, consult your authorized Oracle services representative or service provider for assistance with programming the new System SEEPROM with the existing host ID and Ethernet address.

A data backup is not a prerequisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.

System powered off is required.
