Solution

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Real time clock battery dead. 

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 1

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.

Power down system.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1. Take ESD precautions and ensure system is powered off.

2. Open back of system cover.

3. Unclip and remove battery from system board.

4. Insert new battery

5. Close back of system cover.

7. Power up system.

8. Set Time Of Date . 


WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot Operating system and verify Time Of Date . After verifying TOD correct, start applications.

PARTS NOTE:
When replacing battery, use only identical replacement part.
