Goal

Front Door Switch Installation Problems.

Solution

Resolving front door switch installation problem.

There are 4 different Door switch assemblies for the Front Door in SL8500 tape library.
It has been observed that the metal bracket (4196301xx) is connected to the switch in reverse direction, i.e the curve side of the bracket is not facing the switch in correct direction.
Because of this, the switch cannot be installed within the front window frame.
Refer to the attachment "SL8500-door-switch" to view the switch and bracket.

To correct this problem:
Remove the switch from metal bracket and reverse the position.
