SolutionDescription Run and record the following CLI (Command Line Interface) commands: (save data in case of problems when unit is returned to operation). a. library getconfig b. frameinfo print c. network print Verify that the serial number and the frame and feature info is correct for this unit. (This is not an optional requirement). To assure data is mirrored from the RLM to the RLC you need to use the CLI command "Shutdown" to start the procedure. Failure to follow this step or any of the steps in the virgin RLM replacement procedure will wipe out all internal data on the RLM and RLC cards and you will have to revert to the old RLM replacement process in <document: />.
The RLM is the backplane for the SL500 library. The backplane is installed on the back wall of the base module behind the card cage, drive slots, power supplies, and fans.
1. An RLM card can only be replaced if the original RLC card is available to be reinserted into the new RLM card. 5. Any RLM removed from a library must be returned to the factory for purging of current data in the RLM and re-programmed. CAUTION: ESD Sensitive: Damage may occur to the RLM, RLC, RLW, MPW, or MPU2 cards. Make sure you follow the ESD procedures in the Safety section. 6. Issue the CLI command "shutdown". 7. Wait until the robot is parked before proceeding to the next step. 8. It is important to fully read pages 194 - 236 of the StorageTek SL500 Replacement Parts Catalog, PN96120 Rev.E, BEFORE you start replacement process. You only get one chance to do this procedure if you do not follow all the steps in order you will almost always corrupt or destroy the data in the RLM and RLC cards and you will not be able to continue until a new pre-programmed RLM card is built for you by manufacturing. The data can not be recovered once it is corrupted or destroyed and you will have to revert to the old RLM replacement process: SL500 - Procedure to Order a Programmed Replacement RLM Card (Doc ID 1013985.1) Note: There can be different points of failure on the RLM card that may cause different library components not to function while others remain functional such as the robot, keypad, and front door switch. If any one of these components are not functioning, you may be required to manually raise the robot's X-table into its parked position. Note:
