Goal

Description
This document describes how to login to a blade server module via the Chassis Management Module (CMM)

Symptoms

  • Can't connect
  • Can't login
  • start: Target /CH/BLx/SP/cli cannot be started

Purpose/Scope

This document shows examples of logging in to the following blade server modules via a CMM:

Sun Blade X6220 Server Module
Sun Blade X6250 Server Module
Sun Blade T6300 Server Module
Sun Blade X3-2B Server Module
 

It does not cover logging in via the server's network (using telnet,ssh, etc)

Steps to follow to login to a Blade Server Module via the Chassis Monitoring Module (CMM) on a Sun Blade 6000/6048 chassis

Sun Blade X6220 Server Module

# ssh -l root blade_6000_cmm

Sun Blade X3-2B (formerly X6270 M3)

"start: Target /CH/BLx/SP/cli cannot be started" on Blades with ILOM 3.2.x and CMM with ILOM 3.1.x (Doc ID 1968438.1)

For ILOM 3.1 on CMM and 3.2 on Blade, any action on the Blade can be done directly from the CMM simply by using the /CH/BLx/ prefix in target.
