How to install new features on McData switches through SANPilot

Steps to Follow
Once the Feature Key is obtained, it can be installed using the following procedure:
1.) Bring up the SANPilot GUI by typing in the switch IP Address into a browser session.

2.) Log into SANPilot as an Administrator

3.) Click the Operations link on the left hand side of the GUI window.

4.) Click on the tab labeled Feature Installation.

5.) Type the Feature Key into the box labeled Feature Key and click Activate - The switch will then IPL.

6.) The installed Feature Keys are displayed on this page as well, under the heading Features:


NOTE: When Activate is selected, all current features are removed and replaced with the features specified in the new feature key. Features not included in the new feature key are no longer available on the system. Because of this, it is important to verify that the feature key enables all desired features.

NOTE: This process can be accomplished without marking the switch offline, EXCEPT when the new Feature Key removes existing functionality.
