DescriptionA Data Collection is all the logs gathered into one zip file to send to support.
Steps to FollowNOTE: This fix is for a McData switch that is administered by an EFCM Management server. Refer to solution <Document: 1015627.1> for the procedure to gather support logs without an EFCM server.
- Login to the EFCM server
- Start EFCM application via the icon on the desktop or through the Start button
- This should open a window divided into four sections. The upper right section is the physical map.
- Find the switch in question in the physical map. Double click on the switch. This will open the Element Manager for this switch in a separate window.
- In the Element Manager window, click on the Maintenance menu. With some versions, there may be another step of ' System Files ', then Select Data Collection. This will open a window called "Save Data Collection".
- In the Save Data Collection window, click on the radio button at the top for Look In:. Select the directory to save this file in and make a note of this directory.
- In the File Name box at the bottom, enter the name Data Collection and click on the Save button to the right.
The Oracle support engineer working the case will instruct where the Data Collection file should be sent.
