Goal

SL8500 & SL3000 Host IP Address Conflict

The SL8500 & SL3000 IP addresses and Host IP address can be configured with an IP address which conflicts with the internal LAN resulting in IPL errors, initialization errors, and Cli Error Number 3032. These errors will potentially prevent some of the library sub-assemblies from coming online to the Library Controller.  The Host IP address conflict can occur with the library IP addresses assigned to Port_2B, Port_2A, and Host IP addresses used for HSC and ACSLS.

Solution

Information to address the Host IP Address Conflict:

SL8500 & SL3000 Host IP Address Conflict

The following block of IP addresses should not be configured for the Host IP Interface on the SL8500 HBC card and the Host IP addresses associated with ACSLS and HSC.  Consider the following range of IP addresses reserved for the SL8500 and not for customer use:

Restricted Address range is: 10.0.0.0 - 10.0.11.255

Note: The first usable customer IP address is: 10.0.12.0.
