Please refer to the software release notes to confirm whether upgrading to a new release can be performed non-disruptively. Steps to Follow Steps to Follow When installing EOS firmware on a McData switch, it is important to note that major versions cannot be skipped. That means if the switch is running 4.x version of EOS, it will have to be upgraded to 5.x, then 6.x, before installing 7.x code. 1. Open an Internet browser and type in the switch IP address in the address line to bring up the SANPilot GUI. 2. Click on the Operations link on the left hand side of the screen. 3. Click on the Maintenance tab on the top of the screen. 4. Click on the Firmware Upgrade tab on the second row of tabs. 5. Either type the firmware file path and name into the box entitled Download Firmware file from: or click the Browse button to browse to the firmware file. 6. Click on the button entitled Send & Load Firmware to start the download process. 7. After reading the notice warning that browser activity will terminate the download, click OK to start the download process. 8. Once the firmware has been successfully downloaded the browser window will show the following message: Firmware successfully received and verified. Your browser connection will be unavailable until unit restart is complete. If your browser is not redirected to the Firmware Complete Acknowledgement page within 40 seconds, click here. 9. Finally the browser will redirect to a final page which will display a link to prompt you to log back into the switch. 10. Verify the firmware was upgraded by viewing the Unit Properties tab under the View page. Product McData Previously Published As STKKB66675 Attachments This solution has no attachment |
