McData

Description
This procedure only applies to switches running McData firmware (EOS) versions 7.x and lower. McData changed the GUI in versions 8.x and higher. It is no longer called SANPilot - It is called EFCM Basic and the procedure is different.
How to gather support logs from a McData switch using SANPilot GUI interface

Steps to Follow
Troubleshooting Steps
If the McData switch is being administered by an EFCM management server (8.0 or higher), refer to  <Document: 1018352.1>  for procedure.

1. Open a browser window and enter the IP address for the switch in question. (This will open the default hardware element manager called "SANPilot.")

2. Log into SANPilot using an Administrator username and password.

3. On the left-hand side of the page there are five page options. Select Monitor.

3. At the top of the page there will be four tabs. Select Logs.

4. On the left side of this tab there are three underlined entries for different logs followed by a fourth link for all logs. Click on the link titled All Logs. (This will produce a file called "log_information.txt", it will also display this log on your screen.)

5. Using the file menu on your browser, save this file to a directory (make note of the directory) using the default name.

6. To gather the second of the two logs, click on the link on the left titled Operations.

7. At the top of the page there will again be four tabs. Select Maintenance.

8. Slightly below the four main tabs there will be three sub-tabs. Select Product Info.

9. Click on the link titled Product Information. (This will produce a file called "product_information.txt", it will also display this log on your screen.)

10. Using the file menu on your browser, save this file to a directory (make note of the directory) using the default name.

The Oracle Support Engineer working the case will instruct where to send these files to.
