Goal
How to Reset Admin and Service Password.
If you forget the administrator password, you cannot enter a new password. You must call your customer
service representative.
Solution
Steps to Follow
Customer is not able to reset passwords. A service representative will be required to do the reset via Webex Session.
A Webex Session should be previously agreed with the Customer.
Passwords can be reset via the RMI (Remote Management Interface), using the Service logon. The service logon password is 13572468. From there the access to the Configuration/restore defaults page can be made. The Admin password can be reset to null from this page.
Login to RMI using Service account.
Once you have logged into the RMI, select Configuration then Password to set Admin Password.
At this point you can set the Admin Password to the desired number, (enter exactly 8 numbers).
- Click on submit
- Goto Save/Restore Tab
- Click on the Save button (Under Save/Restore configuration)
- Logout service account
- Login in as Administrator using the new password
Once you have logged into the RMI, select Configuration then Restore Defaults to factory defaults or to restore Admin password to null.
NOTE:
The Account Types are:
• User — no password is required (leave the password box blank).
• Administrator — the administrator password is required. The same administrator password is used for the RMI and OCP (Operator Control Panel). There is not a default administrator password; the administrator password must be set with the OCP before it can be used with the RMI. If the administrator password is lost, contact Oracle Technical Support for assistance to reset the password that will grant administrator access. Reference this Knowledge entry. A webex session would be used to reset the password remotely. If a webex session is not possible, a CSE will need to come to the account to do the reset.
• Service —access to this level is by Service personnel only. The service password is set at the factory. The same service password is used for the RMI and OCP.
The user login provides access to the Identity and Status options, but not the Configuration, Operations, and Support options. Administrator level provides access to all screens except for the Log configuration and Service screens.
Refer to the SL24/48 Service and User Guide for further information.
