Goal

How to reboot a drive or component through SLConsole.

Solution

Reboot a device using SL Console.

1. Before doing anything, collect the error information and review the event logs.   Refer to 1014228.1 if necessary.

2. From the SL Console Op Panel, go to Tools/Diagnostics.  Expand the list to show the affected device (CAP, Drive, Elevator, Robot, or Library).

3. Attempt to Reboot the device by selecting the device and pressing the Reboot button.  Libraries should only be Rebooted if the SL8500 (all four LSM's) are completely down/offline.

Note:  You cannot reboot the CAP in a SL3000 but you are able to with a SL8500.

The CAP can be online /offline with below steps:

Login to SL Console:

System details------Expand the CAP folder-- Select the CAP--- On the right side you can see transition Request -- Select Bring Online-- Apply and check the status.
