Solution


Description
The HBT card is the tape drive controller, responsible for translating commands from the library controller (HBC card) into unique drive commands that are transferred across differential RS-422 cables to the tape drives (the TTI interface).
 
 - Provides TTI interface to/from the tape drives (RS-422).
- Contains 66 Universal Asynch Receiver/Transmitters (UARTs).
 - 64 perform parallel-to-serial conversion for the drives.
 - Communicates with the tape environmental monitor cards (HBD).
