Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1013502.1 : Is It Possible To Retrieve a VTV Past The EOD Marker On An MVC?
PreviouslyPublishedAs 218938 Applies to:Sun StorageTek Virtual Tape Control Software (VTCS) - Version 6.2 and laterSun StorageTek VSM System - Version 5 and later Sun StorageTek Enterprise Library Software (ELS) - Version 7.0 and later IBM z/OS on System z GoalHow to retrieve a VTV past the EOD marker on an MVC? SolutionVTVs past the EOD (end of data) marker are generally a result of a different CDS being used. The MVC was then Audited to sync the CDS with the VTVs at the beginning of the MVC. But this also made VTCS recognize the EOD marker on the MVC so it wouldn't go past the new pointer and audit the remaining tape to note the pre-existing VTVs. With the transport type T10000C (T10KC) there is an available option with a minimum microcode level. Please review <Document 1559824.1> titled 'T10000C - Read Past EOD Feature With 1.57.307 (or higher) Code' for more details. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
