Solution

Solaris Patching:
Sun Fire[TM] Servers (V280R, V480, V490, V880, V890) Servers run a variety of operating systems starting with Solaris 8, up to and including Solaris 10. It is Strongly suggested that the latest patches be installed on the server.

Various pieces of hardware such as CPUs and IO Cards have their own OS version and patch requirements. Consult the System Handbook for minimum Requirements for the specific hardware.
