SL8500 Rail Terminators
New style of rail terminators has been released to improve rail communications and reduce EMI emissions as EC 141201.
The rail terminators for the SL8500 have been redesigned to improve rail communications and reduce EMI emissions. The new terminators are released as PN: 313983201 via EC 141201 and include an HBQ Card. The original terminator was released as two separate part numbers: cable 313845204 and jumper 313885501.
The original and the new terminators are installed direction sensitive. The original terminator was marked with a "T" on the top of the terminator to denote which side should be installed up toward the roof of the library. The new terminators are marked with "STOP MOUNT THIS SIDE DOWN", meaning this side should be installed toward the floor of the SL8500.
During the phase-in of the new terminators some shipments may contain both styles, disregard the old terminators and install the new style if both are received.
Note: The new terminators are required to support the 8 HandBot feature and highly recommended for longer configurations; 3-5 SEM.
