Console not rersponding Note Available at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/oracle-x86-servers-190077.html When the platform OS is up and running, the system console is either graphics on the Locally attached monitor or text based on the serial console redirection in the SMDC Service Processor. Please note BIOS menu or system boot message before platform OS up will appear on all these console. This document describes how to connect to the system. Please choose which method is already configured on your system and most convenient for you. When accessing a system console, please type any key and check if the console is responding to see if the console is working or not. Please note that there might be a process blocking the console, so press CTRL+C to break this process to see if there still response from the console. If there is no console response to the key presses then the system may be hung. Refer to one of the following documents to troubleshoot further:
1. Getting a physical Console via locally attached Graphics MonitorIf the system has physically a monitor attached to the video connector on the back on the system and at least an USB keyboard. 2. Getting a console via SMDC Service ProcessorYou can connect to a serial console redirection on SMDC. You need to have the SMDC Service Processor configured (like. IP address, user added) and to have the console Redirection set in BIOS to "Enabled over SMDC". You also need to have a serial console supported by your Operating System and need to be Configured and enabled before. For information on how to install and configure the optional SMDC and how to Setup the Serial Console over LAN, please refer to Sun Fire X2100 Server User Guide, Part No. 819-3721-13, Appendix C, "Using the Optional Service Processor"
