PreviouslyPublishedAs 206058 Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions and laterAll Platforms GoalOracle/StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System, Initial SL8500 Power on could trigger an Auto Activation.
SolutionInitial SL8500 Power on could trigger an Auto Activation: The SL8500 is composed of multiple components that require separate code modules; we group and test these code modules together to release a specific level of SL8500 code. A limited number of sites have reported the auto code activation occurred during install. The first power-on of the SL8500 during installation could generate an unscheduled auto activation if all of the component code levels are not at the same level of the general Library Code. During the initial power-up of an SL8500 during install it is important not to disrupt the auto activation. The red "Wait LED's" on the front panel will flash on and off during the activation process and is used as a visual indicator the activation is occurring. Do not open the front door or power down any components during the activation process. If the activation is interrupted it will probably leave the related component inoperable.
