Goal

All Sun StorEdge 3000 Arrays use audible alarms. The alarm will generate a "morse code" beeping pattern. This document identifies all the audible alarms the array can generate.

This information is covered in detail in the Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Installation, Operation, and Service Manual.

Solution

Description
The beep code alarms always begin with the critical component failure alarm and are then followed by the alarms for each failed component. Then the whole sequence repeats.

Steps to Follow
Failed component beep codes.

1. The SES/PLD error code is for the 3510 and 3511 only.

2. Indicates that an informational event has occurred. Refer to the event log for details.

3. Indicates that a non-critical event has occurred. Refer to the event log for details.

There are three ways to mute the audible alarm. This only mutes the beeper. It does not fix the problem.
 - cli (sccli)           *mute
 - telnet/tip interface  *System Functions -> Mute Beeper
 - On the array          *Push the white audible alarm button (front right corner)
