Solution
To verify that the proper version of the operating system is installed, examine the /etc/release file. It should contain the text Solaris X X/XX or identify a Solaris OS release that is compatible with the Sun Fire V490 / V890 systems. Within the Solaris Environment, enter: # /usr/sbin/prtconf -V Or alternatively, from the ok prompt, enter: ok .version
