Purpose

PCA X5-2 systems require PCA 2.3.3 or higher in order to receive certain replacement CRU drives.

Details

Due to availability, you may receive these CRU replacements on PCA:

PCA X4-2 and X5-2 - CRU 7094126 is replaced by 7350578

7094126 [C] 200GB SAS Solid State Drive Assembly
   7350578 [C] 200GB SAS-3 Solid State Drive Assembly

PCA X5-2 - CRU 7097377 is replaced by 7337005

   7097377 [C] 1.6TB SAS-3 Solid State Drive Assembly
   7337005 [C] 3.2TB SAS3 Solid State Drive Assembly

The integrated ZFS appliance in the PCA X5-2 system rack must have AK 8.7.14 or higher in order to receive these replacement drives.
PCA systems running software lower than AK 8.7.14 will reject the FRU replacement drive because the old software does not support it.

PCA 2.3.3 contains AK 8.7.14.

Obtaining the required AK 8.7.14 software is a two step process.

1.  Upgrade PCA management nodes to image 2.3.3.  It is highly recommended that a Service Request with Oracle Support be opened, pro-actively, prior to performing the upgrade.

2.  Upgrade the internal zfs appliance per section 3.5.2 of the Admin Guide.

3.5.2 Upgrading the Operating Software on the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance
