Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

To illustrate minimum system requirements to support the Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD in T7-x, S7-x, and T8-x systems. Customers with older versions of Oracle NVMe SSD drives that wish to upgrade to this latest version will be required to make these system updates.

Additionally:
The Oracle Flash Accelerator F320 PCIe Card and the Oracle 3.2 TB NVMe SSD (SFF) will EOL on M7/S7/T7 platforms effective 01/01/18.
Platforms will need to make these system updates to support replacement with the Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD.

Scope

Customers that are using the Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD or are migrating from Oracle 3.2 TB NVMe SSD (or earlier NVMe SSD versions) to the Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD on SPARC T7-x, SPARC T8-x, and S7-x systems.

Details

Customers will need to update their systems to these minimum revisions to support the latest Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD drives. Support for Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD drives in T7-x, S7-x, T8-x requires minimum revisions of:

System Firmware (T7-x, S7-x), Solaris (T7-x, T8-x, S7-x), and FPGA (T7-x and S7-x).

T7-2, T7-4, S7-x: Minimum sysFW 9.8.3 or higher, T7-1 Minimum sysFW 9.8.4.c
