Solution 2334909.1 : Netra T2000 SP can be replaced by a Sun Fire T2000 SP

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The number of service replacement SPs for the Netra T2000: 371-1962 are running low. This document provides a procedure to use replacement SPs from the Sun Fire T2000: 501-7130, 501-7500, or 501-7764 in a Netra system, since they use the same Printed Circuit Board.

Details

Note: that the user must still follow document 1308290.1 to replace the SP!

There are 2 differences between the Netra T2000 & Sun Fire T2000 SPs, as follows:

The Netra SP includes a right angle riser card,
The Netra SP contains Netra based firmware.

Thus, the following steps must be modified or added:

5. Remove the ALOM card from the system board - Do not remove the right angle SP riser since the replacement will not contain one.

8. Insert the replacement ALOM into the System Board - Insert the replacement ALOM into the riser.

Add - 12. Perform a firmware upgrade of the replaced ALOM with the desired Netra firmware patch, per 1011226.1.
