Applies to:Oracle ZFS Storage ZS5-2 - Version All Versions and laterOracle ZFS Storage ZS5-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) PurposeDue to product policy changes, Oracle is shipping new types of hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD) and embedded solid-state drives (m-SSD) to EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia). To ensure compatibility with these new drives, some systems may require a firmware update.
ScopeHard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD) and embedded solid-state drives (m-SSD) per the list below. In case of a hardware failure, customers should validate that they are on the latest system firmware levels to ensure usability of these new HDD/SSD equivalent drives.
DetailsAn Appliance Firmware Release upgrade is needed to support the above HDDs and SSDs in the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance. Please upgrade to Appliance Firmware Release AK 2013.1 Update 6.12 (or later) which contains the fix for this issue.
NOTE: We highly recommend you upgrade to the Appliance Firmware Release AK 2013.1 Update 6.12 (or later) as soon as possible.
