Purpose

This reference document is intended for rapid identification of media signaling interfaces installed within an Oracle Session Border Controller.

Details

The signaling and media interfaces provide network connectivity for the signaling and media traffic for the Session Border Controller.  This section describes the small form factor pluggable devices that may be installed within a SBC.

Note: Only transceivers qualified by Oracle or Acme Packet can be used in these devices. The transceivers are inserted into the NIU. Mixed transceiver types are unsupported.  All available transceiver locations must be populated with the same SFP type based upon compliance testing.

10G SFP+ Transceivers

Compatability: 4500, 4600, 6100, 6300

Label: "850nm LASER PROD" Label: "1310nm LASER PROD."
Cable: An Aqua-colored fiber optic cable. Cable: Yellow colored fiber optic cable.

Gigabit SFP Transceivers

Compatability: 3820, 3900, 4250, 4500, 4600

SFP Identification

Black LatchBlue LatchYellow Latch
The Black latch indicates the SFP is a multi-imode transceiver. A Blue latch indicates the SFP is a single-mode transceiver. A Yellow latch indicates a gigabit Ethernet copper SFP transceiver.
