Purpose
This document is meant to inform that a 146gb drive maybe be received in place of a 73gb drive due to availability. It will also show what additional steps are to be taken into consideration.
Scope
This information is intended for any person who services or orders parts for V120 V125, V210 and V240 Servers
Details
It may be that a 540-6602(146gb drive) is received In place of 540-6600 (73gb drive)
The physical replacement of the drive would be no different for the 540-6602(146gb drive). There is no need for any bracket changes.
The CAPS(canned action plans) to replace disks in the V210/240 and V120 Systems are:
How To Remove and Replace V210/V240 Disk Drive:ATR:754:0 [Video] (Doc ID 1306030.1)
How To Remove and Replace a Sun Fire V120 Disk Drive:ATR:1488264.1:0 (Doc ID 1488264.1
How to Remove and Replace Sun Fire V250 Disk Drive:ATR:1488386.1:0 (Doc ID 1488386.1)
The only addition to the CAPs above is that when entering format, which is step 5 for the V120 CAP and step 11 for the V210/240 CAP, the VTOC will need to be changed on the 146gb disk to match what is correct for a 73gb disk.
