Type

Severity
- Major
Description
-
Upset due to OBP not running in a domain.
The situations under which this upset can be detected are as follows:
- fe-internal-err 03000004, 03000005, 03000008, 03000009, 0300000a, 0300000d, 0300000e, 03000010, 03000011 OBP found corrupted internal data structure, or faced an unexpected trap, such as a watchdog. This could be a side effect of other software failures (such as Solaris panic), a hardware failure or could be due to corruption of the OBP image programmed in ROM.
- upset-security-key 0300000b OBP cannot process the security key for WAN boot. The security key may be broken or too long.
- fe-pcibox-property 0300000f OBP failed to obtain PCI Box-related information. This could be just a side effect of a PCI box-related failure.
Automated Response
- The domain should drop to the OBP ‘ok’ prompt. If OBP fails to reach the ‘ok’ prompt the domain is rebooted.
This event can be a side effect of another failure elsewhere on the domain. The platform administrator should check for another fault that could have caused this OBP failure. The platform administrator should schedule a service action.
Impact
- Nothing is deconfigured.
Indicted Hardware
- The PPAR in which the failed domain is configured is marked as failed.
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
