Description

Self-test error detected by an XB chip within itself or while trying to establish communication with another XB chip.

This error can only occur when a Building Block has started to join a PPAR.

For self-test, the XB chip tries to establish communication with another XB chip.

Automated Response

No immediate action will be taken.

Impact

The XBUQ is marked for replacement.

Indicted Hardware

The XBUQ is the first suspect, the XB cable is the second suspect, and a FRU, where the other XB chip is mounted, is the third suspect.

When Building Blocks are directly connected by cables, then this third suspect is other Building Block.

When Building Blocks are connected via XB-Box, then this third suspect is a XB-Box.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
