Details
Type
- Hardware Fault
- cpu.core.strand.ce-quiet
Severity
- Minor
Description
-
Fault that indicates too many correctable faults (cpu.core.strand.ce) within CPU strand(s) have occurred.
Future occurrences of such correctable faults are blocked.
Automated Response
- No immediate action is taken. Additionally, all future such core correctable error interrupts to service processor are blocked. The platform administrator should make some sort of arrangement to make sure the domain does not use the CPU chip for an extended period of time
Impact
-
Nothing will be deconfigured.
Indicted Hardware
- For M12-1 systems, the MBU is marked for replacement.
- For M12-2 and M12-2S systems, the related Motherboard (CMUU or CMUL) is marked for replacement.
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
