Details
Type
- Hardware Fault
- cpu.core.strand.se-quiet
Severity
- Major
Description
-
Fault that indicates too many CPU serious faults, such as 15012700, have occurred. Future occurrences of cpu.core.strand.se faults are blocked.
Automated Response
- The actions to be taken are the same as those for cpu.core.strand.se. Additionally, all future cpu.core-strand.se interrupts for service processor are blocked.
Impact
-
The core of the CPU chip will be deconfigured the next time the domain reboots.
Indicted Hardware
- For M12-2 and M12-2S systems, the related Motherboard (CMUU or CMUL) is marked for replacement.
- If this is a UE in the (shared) L3$, then each of the cores is separately indicted (this is because the domain subscribes to this fault, and all cores must be offlined).
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
