Purpose
This document provides interoperability matrices for Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance software version OS8.7.x (2013.1.7.x) based on three client connection types: Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and InfiniBand.
It also provides a list of recommended Oracle Database patches for: Oracle Direct NFS (dNFS), Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Intelligent Storage Protocol (OISP), and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA).
This software release supports the following platforms: Oracle ZFS Storage ZS5-4, Oracle ZFS Storage ZS5-2, Oracle ZFS Storage ZS4-4, Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4, Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2, Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-BA, Sun ZFS Storage 7420, Sun ZFS Storage 7320, Sun ZFS Storage 7120.
Details
Interoperability for Ethernet Client Connections
Connectivity Options
Direct connect and switch attach connectivity are supported unless noted otherwise.
Supported Ethernet Switches and NICs
All 1Gb/s switches, 10Gb/s switches, 40Gb/s switches, and NICs from vendors who follow standard specifications are supported.
Protocol Support for Ethernet Connected Clients
The following operating systems and architectures are supported over NFSv3, NFSv4, NFSv4.1, iSCSI, SMB 2.1, SMB 3.0, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP, and HTTPS. SMB 2.1 does not support these features: branch cache, resilient handles. NFSv4.1 is supported with Oracle Linux 6 and 7. NFSv4.1 is not supported on Windows, Solaris, and AIX clients.
