Description
-
Fault due to a fatal error on the interface between two XB chips.
When Building Blocks are connected by cables only, these XB chips are on XBUQ.
When Building Blocks are connected by XB-Box, one XB chip is on XBUQ, and the other XB chip is on XBUX in XB-Box.
Automated Response
- PPARs using this XB chip are reset.
Impact
- An XB-way is deconfigured on these PPARs.
Indicted Hardware
- The XBUQ is the first suspect, the XB cable is the second suspect, and a FRU, where the other XB chip is mounted, is the third suspect.
When Building Blocks are directly connected by cables, then this third suspect is the other Building Block.
When Building Blocks are connected via XB-Box, then this third suspect is a XB-Box.
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
