- device.fail_psu
Severity
- Major
Description
-
A fault occurred when a PSU signaled that it has failed.
Automated Response
- If there are insufficient operational PSUs to power the box, then the box is powered down. Otherwise, no action is taken.
When the box is an M12-2S Building Block or XB-Box, a Ppar using the box will have the Building Block removed from the configuration or one XB way deconfigured at next power on.
The platform administrator should schedule a service action.
Impact
- The PSU is deconfigured. If there are insufficient operational PSUs:
- - the platform becomes unbootable for M12-1 or M12-2 systems.
- the Building Block becomes unbootable for M12-2S systems.
- the XB-box becomes unbootable, and Building Blocks using this XB-Box will start with one deconfigured XB way at next power-on.
Indicted Hardware
- The PSU is marked for replacement.
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
