Purpose

Provide additional information for message ID: M12-device.pump.tooslow_vllc

Fujitsu fault codes:

01911220, 01919220

Details

Type

Hardware Fault
   device.pump.tooslow_vllc

Severity

Minor

Description

Fault due to the rotation speed of a VLLC pump being either lower than its predefined threshold, or due to a pump being stopped completely.

Note: This internal_Only comment left in from M10 Knowledge Article 1534907.1 m10-device.pump.tooslow_llc - Rotation speed of a Liquid Loop Cooling (LLC) pump is either lower than its predefined threshold or has stopped completely It may no longer be relevant for M12.

"Note that, under certain conditions, it is possible to generate this fault when a power-off is attempted and an external USB-powered device is connected to either the front or rear USB port e.g. a USB DVD drive. If this is the case, remove the external USB device, clear the fault and retry the power-off operation. See document CMUL Faulted with Power Issues ( Error Messages 01910d00, 01919220, 018f0001 ) (Doc ID 1904125.1).

The recommended DVD drive and AC adapter is Oracle option 7106761 External USB DVD drive with AC adapter"

Automated Response

When a sufficient number of pumps are still working for an VLLC, no immediate action is taken.

When there are insufficient working VLLC pumps to maintain an VLLC, then the XSCF driver is used to send a shutdown request to all domains in this box.

Impact

The CPUs cooled by the failed VLLC are deconfigured.

Indicted Hardware

The CMU, where this pump is mounted, is marked for replacement.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
