Type
- Hardware Fault
- cpu.ce
Severity
- Major
Description
-
Fault due to constant correctable errors detected by a SPARC64 XII CPU chip within itself.
Automated Response
- No immediate action is taken. The administrator should ensure that the affected CPU is removed from the domain configuration.
Impact
-
All future interrupts that would cause this fault are blocked. The domain that is using the CPU chip does not require immediate attention, but the platform administrator should make some sort of arrangement to make sure the domain does not use the CPU chip for an extended period of time. If the error code is 15014406 or 15014407, frequency of correctable error is serious enough to deconfigure the CPU chip the next time the domain reboots.
For M12-1 systems, this means the platform becomes unbootable.
Indicted Hardware
- For M12-1 systems the Motherboard is marked for replacement. For M12-2 and M12-2S systems, the related Motherboard (CMUU or CMUL) is marked for replacement.
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
