Purpose
Provide additional information for message ID: M12-cpu.core.ce
Fujitsu fault codes:
05018200, 05018201, 05018202
Details
Type
- Hardware Fault
- cpu.core.ce
Severity
- Minor
Description
-
Fault due to constant correctable errors detected by a SPARC64 XII CPU chip within one of its own cores. The fault is serious enough that the domain is asked to offline the core.
Automated Response
- No immediate action is taken. The domain subscribes to this fault and the domain software will attempt to offline the core. The platform administrator should make some sort of arrangement to make sure the domain does not use the CPU chip for an extended period of time.
Impact
-
The core of the CPU chip is deconfigured the next time the domain reboots.
Indicted Hardware
- For M12-1 systems, the Motherboard is marked for replacement. For M12-2 and M12-2S systems, the related Motherboard (CMUU or CMUL) is marked for replacement. If this is a UE in the (shared) L3$, then each of the cores is separately indicted (this is because the domain subscribes to this fault, and all cores must be offlined).
Suggested Action for System Administrator
- The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
