Description

Fault due to constant correctable errors detected by a SPARC64 XII CPU chip within one of its L1, L2 or L3 cache ways.

Automated Response

The CPU chip deconfigures the L1, L2 or L3 cache way automatically.  The domain that is using the CPU chip does not require immediate attention, but the platform administrator should make some sort of arrangement to make sure the domain does not use the CPU chip for an extended period of time.

Impact

The affected CPU deconfigures the L1/L2/L3 cache way.

Indicted Hardware

For M12-1 systems the Motherboard is marked for replacement. For M12-2 and M12-2S systems, the related Motherboard (CMUU or CMUL) is marked for replacement.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
