Purpose

Some Oracle SuperCluster M7 systems were shipped without the cache device set-up correctly on the 2nd head of the ZS3-ES storage. This article describes how to check for and remediate the issue.

Details

Log into head 2 of the ZS3-ES and Verify the ZS3-ES is clustered using the example syntax below.

orlm7sn2:> configuration cluster get state
state = AKCS_CLUSTERED

If the ZS3-ES is not in this state then failback will need to be performed from both heads until AKCS_CLUSTER

orlm7sn2:> configuration storage

If you do not get the prompt $hostname:configuration storage (supercluster2)> then your storage is misconfigured in an unexpected way and you should seek further guidance by raising a Service Request with Oracle Support.

If it is fine do the following

set 0-cache=2
done
set cache_profile=cache_stripe
done

<wait>

When the prompt returns you may run "get cache_profile" to verify "cache_stripe" is set correctly & log out.

The above method was tested by Keith Bond on SuperCluster M7 in collaboration with the RPE ZFSSA team
